The girls return from their travels

Practising French expressionsToday Margot and Katell return from their month in France. This means Margot has lived in France for a whole 3rd of her life!

So, since she started out 1/2 french, that makes her, 2 x 3 is six, 3 + 1, a whole two thirds French today...

Alex's side of the family has some work to do.

Baby steps

Cécile told of a baby she met walking in a supermarket at only 7 months, but Margot's not quite there yet. However, she has started to make little noises like letters, she can hold her head up, tries to roll over and generally pleases her dad. She is smiling a lot!

She's still sleeping at night (from 11:30 to 7:00), and she's still often a pain in the evening.

Jicé le chef

Here's Jicé (pronounced Jissou) amply demonstrating his qualifications to run a country Gîte!

Marsanne

We arrived at Marsanne on Saturday night, after a heroic 12 hour drive from Marc and Katell, while Alex and Margot were very good and slept in the back.

In Marsanne, Katell's cousin and honorary Auntie Gaele and her wild man husband J.C. have a combined Doctor's practice and brand new Gite in the country. I recommend a booking!

Katell's two other cousins Cecile and Sabine happen to be visiting this week, which is an excellent opportunity for them to coo-coo over the beautiful new baby!

Tharon Plage

Tharon is a traditional summer seaside resort, comprising chalets and holiday homes on grass lined avenues, campsites, a large seasonal population and lots of bars, ice cream and mussel shops.

It's a great place for children, and I'm sure Margot will look forward to future summers here.

Here's some arty pics of her by the seaside.

Barbecues and Mussels

Papa Alex has arrived on Saturday to join in the fun!

So far it's not a traditional summer holiday, since Margot's not yet ready to go to the beach, but there's plenty of fun to be had eating and drinking in the sun.

Tonton Marc has provided plenty of delicious bbq related cuisine, and Monique's Mussels or "Moule" have been thick and fast.
