Margot's head smells like...

Lemon pancakes!

Once again we have been cowed into providing 11pm feeds by the threat of 4am breakfasts. An 11pm feed is a careful balancing act in which we must try to give margot 200ml of SMA without waking her up. Good luck mum and dad!

Handy things

Margot is getting interested in her hands recently, and can often be found staring at one and moving her fingers slowly, fascinated-or at least passing the time until she gets a fresh nappy.

It may be time to pull the cellophane off the sing and sign DVD I bought her months ago in a burst of vicarious ambition.

This weekend she is visiting her fiancée Mathis, in Histon, near Cambridge. Mathis can walk already, and can impress Margot with his charming use of the words 'no', and 'more'.

Weaning update

We have entered a new age of truly mucky hands!
This week's winners include carrot and sweet, sweet potato, rejects are banana and the quite revolting apple.
In other news, Margot is nearly 6 months old!

Weaning begins

I'm ready, mumRecently Margot has begun to pay attention to proper human food - waving her arms around and looking petulant to indicate that she wants to know where her share is.

On Tuesday we fed Margot her first food that wasn't milk (basically Ready Brek) If it was me I would have sent it back and asked for something else with a bit more kick, but Margot seems really keen, and got through about 60ml of if the following day at nursery.

This weekend we went out and bought a hand blender, and now our lives will revolve around turning various kinds of plant life into mush. And probably having it for dinner too.

Oh, and Daddy bought an iPhone, which will obviously replace Margot in his affections from now on, until it is sucked or thrown to death.
