Late season sledging

They Sunday after the Saturday Papa finally got around to buying a sledge, it snowed beautiful soft, fresh snow. We headed out to the park to try it out, only taking a couple of hours to organise hats and gloves on the way.

After doing about 2 minutes of sledging, we sustained a semi-serious knuckle graze, requiring a return to base and TWO plasters. Snow was a bit melty by the time we got out, but Margot found some lovely pals to go down the hill with.

A WALK in Endcliffe Park and a go on the swings

Margot went to Endcliffe Park today with Mum and Dad, and had a super time on the swings!

Next we walked along to the duck pond, where Margot had a shout at the ducks, and tried out her newly invented walking technique.

Wildlife expeditions

Pictures of the botanical gardensAfter being trapped indoors by a rainy bank holiday, we decided to venture outside with Margot. Our first quick trip to the shops ended in shame, as a kindly shop owner pointed out that Margot's bonnet was on backwards!

After a lovely nap for the whole family, we set out again to visit the Sheffield botanical gardens, which was pretty much deserted at 6pm, but in full bloom and looking very prim. A highlight of the gardens is the bear pit, which we visited despite the risk of mauling.

It's Margot's 1 week birthday today - hooray!

Adventures

Saturday was a very big day.

After a troubled night, Mum and Dad were tired but happy to have granddad Malcolm, Auntie Zoe, and great granny Stella drop in to see baby Margot. Lots of cuddling ensued, and Margot had her first trip to a restaurant - in which she was Very Good (i.e. asleep).

Building on this success, Dad and Auntie took her on a veritable exepdition to the holy land of Meadow-hall, where she enjoyed the attentions of various middle aged passers by, and a quick dinner in M&S. Mum stayed home for a well deserved nap.
